How to file a copyright claim

Admin review outcomes

REMOVE_VIDEO / MUTE_AUDIO

The video goes private and receives a 14-day deletion countdown.

RESTRICT_ACCESS

The video becomes Link Only and is not scheduled for deletion.

TRANSFER_MONETIZATION

The video stays public, but all ad earnings go to the claimant.

TRACK_ONLY

No changes are made. The claim is recorded for monitoring only.

Creator strikes

Each upheld claim adds a creator strike. Repeated infringement can trigger escalating consequences, including restrictions or termination.

Counter-notice

  • Creators can dispute a claim from the dashboard.
  • Filing a counter-notice pauses the deletion countdown.
  • The paused claim remains under review until the dispute process completes.
